Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: Endoscopy - Surgical Nursing Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days; 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, 4x10 Hr Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week Experience: Minimum three (3) years of applicable experience License: RN license in good standing Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association Must-Have: - Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak fluent English - Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsing - Multicultural sensitivity - Strong critical thinking skills and independent judgment for decision-making Job Description: - Contribute professional nursing knowledge and skills in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team for patient care management by applying the nursing process. - Develop an individualized plan of care using a collaborative approach with the patient, family, and healthcare team. - Use appropriate interventions identified in the plan to achieve expected patient outcomes. - Evaluate and document patient progress on an ongoing basis. - Modify the care plan based on evaluation and evidence-based practice. - Conduct patient assessments through interviews and observations. - Complete required documentation including patient charts and event reports. - Demonstrate professional accountability through continuous self-development. - Maintain technical knowledge of equipment and troubleshoot issues. - Acquire and maintain current knowledge and skills in evidence-based nursing practice. - Promote professional development of self and team members. - Share clinical knowledge through informal teaching. - Demonstrate problem-solving approaches to patient moving and handling. - Obtain and handle lab specimens for testing as necessary. - Perform bedside lab testing in compliance with orders and procedures. - Coordinate interdisciplinary care and utilize additional resources when needed. - Analyze clinical situations systematically to address or correct issues. - Seek assistance and resources, including consultations, when needed. - Demonstrate ownership and persistence in problem resolution. - Prioritize work based on patient condition changes and unanticipated interruptions. - Collaborate in organizing patient care tasks from admission to discharge. - Delegate tasks and activities appropriately. - Provide shift reports focused on goals. - Advocate for patients with physicians as necessary. - Utilize communication strategies to promote team performance and patient outcomes. - Choose appropriate communication styles and give and accept constructive feedback. - Adhere to assigned weekly, weekend, and holiday call shifts as per policies. - Assess and choose teaching strategies appropriate for patient/family needs.
