Position Overview The Illinois Department of Children and Family
Services is seeking an organized, results-oriented professional to
serve as Advocacy Case Supervisor. Under administrative direction,
this position will provide, supervise, review, and coordinate the
work of advocates with daily cases regarding child welfare service
complaints. The position will provide expert consultation to staff
on individual cases and recommend changes in service plans as
deemed necessary. This position will supervise subordinate
professional staff and establish and implement a team-based program
of staff development and training. The position will also establish
priorities among assignments and explain and enforce agency
policies, procedures, and state and area statutes and requirements.

Supervisor Serves as working supervisor Establishes and implements
a team-based program of staff development and training for
subordinate staff Reviews and corrects subordinate responses to
correspondence received by the Department for Administrator's or
Director's signature Explains and enforces agency policies,
procedures, and state and area statutes and requirements Provides
input into technical staff conferences to assess needed services
Plans, directs, and conducts extensive and complex research or
administrative studies of division operations; establishes,
evaluates, and monitors a complex reporting system Performs other
duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the
scope of the duties enumerated above Minimum Qualifications
Requires an MSW or a master's degree in a related human services
field Requires three years of administrative child welfare
experience with an MSW or four years of administrative child
welfare experience with a master's degree in a related human
services field The college or university issuing a bachelor's or
master's degree must be accredited, and the degree program in
social work must be approved by the Council on Social Work
Education. Preferred Qualifications 4 years of professional
experience functioning as an advocate within a public or private
organization 3 years of experience supervising professional child
welfare staff in a public or private organization 3 years of
professional experience developing a team-based program of staff
development and training for subordinate staff in a public or
private organization 3 years of professional experience meeting
deadlines with strong attention to detail and the ability to
utilize critical thinking skills 2 years of professional experience
exercising a high degree of initiative and independent judgment in
interpreting and developing policies, standards, and procedures for
a public or private organization 2 years of professional experience
analyzing and evaluating programs and operations for a public or
private organization 2 years of professional experience serving in
a liaison capacity for a public or private organization Conditions
